Dungeons and Dragons based MMO Neverwinter is now available to play developer Cryptic Studios has announced.
"We here at Cryptic Studios and Perfect World Entertainment are thrilled to announce that Neverwinter is now live! Neverwinter is a completely free to download and free to play MMORPG, featuring sixty levels of content, as well as the Foundry, a tool that allows for a potentially unlimted amount of user-generated content to be created and published directly into the world!"
The game was first announced in 2011 and players are warned that they will face "their toughest challenges yet". You can download the game directly from Perfect World's website or from some partner sites. Neverwinter is only available on PC and requires Windows XP through Windows 8.
To mark the release Cryptic have added Gauntlgrym which is a new end-game event pitting teams of 20 players againts each other in both PvE and PvP combat. Those who emerge victorious will unlock an exclusvie dungeon filled with "top tier rewards". In addition, potion brewing has been added for the first time with a new Alchemy profession.
The developers are already at work on Fury of the Feywild; the game's first expansion, which will add a new zone as well as new features.
