Sony has released a host of new Killzone: Mercenary gameplay footage, which includes an interview with Tom Jones, art director at Guerilla Games Cambridge.
Not to be confused with the musician, Jones talks about how the game's developers are using the same engine as Killzone 3, which they tweaked the hell out of to get it working on the Vita with some maximum details.
"We actually took the engine from Killzone 3 and tweaked that to get the most out of Vita and that gave us the groundwork to push the fidelity," Jones said.
The game has been in development for two years, and is the second title in the series, after the PSP's Killzone: Liberation, to be developed for a mobile platform.
The game will be available on the PlayStation Vita on September 10 in North America, and includes both single- and multi-player elements, with free-for-all, team deathmatch, and a series of multiplayer campaign-styled missions called Warzone with support for up to eight players.
