We first learned about Below, the upcoming game from Capybara Games, during the Microsoft press conference at E3 on Monday. But Capybara has also released another trailer at the Horizon Indie Game Conference, the same event that Polytron took as an opportunity to announce Fez 2. Like the E3 trailer for Below, this one doesn't reveal a whole lot about how the game will actually play, or what the story is about, but it's so beautiful that it's worth a look anyway:
We see a figure walk through a landscape that feels deserted, until it reaches a doorway that looks like the artwork provided with the announcement of the game. In the clip after we're shown this artwork, the figure is inside, and black tentacles reach out to deprive it of its weapon and shield, destroying them. When a structure and bright light appear before the figure, however, the tentacles seem to shy away.
Who's got a theory for what any of that means?
Here's what we know about the game so far: it looks stunning, and will have something to do with exploration, survival, and discovery. It has also currently only been announced for Xbox One, though fans of Capybara Studios will hope that it also comes to PC at least. Those who've played Sword & Sworcery LP may also recognise the musical talents of Jim Guthrie.
What do you think of the look of this game so far? Is it enough to make you want an Xbox One?
