Despite the focus for the four big press conferences, E3 isn't just about consoles, and developers are also making announcements and releasing trailers for upcoming PC titles. For example, Pinkerton Road Studio, the studio led by Gabriel Knight creator Jane Jensen, has released its own E3 trailer for its upcoming PC , Mac, Linux, and iPad game Moebius:
The trailer begins with a quote – “History is a series of repeating patterns,” – that betrays the fact that it won't be a simple story. The video gives us glimpses of a murder enquiry that isn't one: a speaker tells a widower that his team isn't looking for whoever murdered his wife but for details that tell the story of her life. Moebius has a cartoony aesthetic, but it looks like the story will be dark as it takes the protagonist to different countries around the world.
Here's the description from the website for the game:
“Malachi Rector has a photographic memory and a genius for history. He’s parlayed that skill into a lucrative career evaluating antiques for prestigious auction houses. But when a secret government agency called F.I.S.T. (Future Intelligence Science & Technology) hires him to look into the life of a dead woman, Malachi realizes that there may be a deeper level to history, and even to space and time, than he ever suspected.”
You can find out more about the game both at that site and on Kickstarter, where Pinkerton Road Studio managed to raise $435,316 with a goal of only $300,000. The game should arrive later this year.
