Many dubbed the latest Zelda 3DS title as A Link to the Past 2. When Nintendo first brought up the 1990's Super Nintendo game, enough video game sequels trained us to naturally slap a "2" at the end.
This latest trailer for the 3DS Zelda title shows off some new gameplay and the brand new name, The Legend of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds.
The trailer continues to display the top-down perspective and the depth the 3D effect allows. Each dungeon and level will feature more verticality to take advantage of the 3D effect.
The trailer shows Link using his mallet to destroy the floor beneath him to drop to another level. Link can also use his flattening ability to ride the facing of rising blocks to reach higher sections of a dungeon.
If you can remember your most recent A Link to the Past playthrough, then you will immediately recognize the blue and red switches and the return of Link's trusty Fire Rod.
If you need some sort of Zelda in between now and its release, you can pick up The Legend of Zelda: Wind Waker HD remaster for the Wii U in October.
If you want something sooner and on your 3DS, Nintendo just released the Capcom developed The Legend of Zelda: Oracle of Season and The Legend of Zelda: Oracle of Ages. If you plan on purchasing Seasons and Age, act quickly as the price for both games will increase from $4.99 to $5.99 each on June 20th.
