Call of Duty: Ghosts Graphics and Engine Technology Showcased

June 10, 2013 by Ian Miles Cheong

Infinity Ward has released a new video showcasing the game’s powerful engine technology, with features including Sub D and Displacement Mapping.

Activision has put together a new video depicting the graphics tech that's going into their next title down the Call of Duty line, Ghosts. The video gives us an inside look into how the game's densely detailed jungle environments are created with the studio's newest engine.

The video is running in real-time and showcases "displacement mapping," and "Sub D" a feature which allows for the developers to depict highly detailed geometry and perfectly smooth curves. The video depicts what the game looks like with "Sub D" on and off. The latter feature allows the game to project perfectly round scopes instead of jaggy edges.
