Lightning Returns

Square Enix has released over a dozen new screenshots of Lightning Returns: Final Fantasy XIII ahead of the game's big presentation at E3 this year. The screenshots were released in addition to the video released yesterday, containing some of the game's storyline in which Lightning wakes up after a five hundred year slumber.

The screenshots showcase some of the many environments, which Lightning will traverse throughout the game. They also contain a few of the battle sequences in which Lightning will beat the hell out of monsters.

Interestingly enough, the screenshots also depict Snow Villiers showing off his new, darker look five hundred years after the events of the first two games.

The game is set to launch on the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 in North America on February 11 next year.
