Earlier this week Square Enix released a trailer for Murdered: Soul Suspect, the supernatural title in which players are tasked with solving their own muder, and today they've revealed the game's developer to be Dark Void maker Airtight Games Eurogamer reports.
Quite why Square Enix withheld this information until now is unclear but it may have something to do with the tepid reaction the jetpack-heavy Dark Void received upon release in 2010.
We know the game casts you in the role of detective Ronan O'Connor whose spirit or ghost, it's not quite clear, lingers after he dies. O'Connor must solve his own murder and can do so from Dusk, the game's limbo world, by controlling the living and having access to their thoughts.
Square Enix announced the game back in February on the same day as the PlayStation 4's announcement and it's likely much of the attention the reveal might have garnered was lost as a result. The game however, is not coming to PS4 – or any next-gen platform – it's slated for PS3, Xbox 360 and PC.
We'll probably have more information about the game after E3 next week and Murdered is set to be released in 2014.
