Update: Spartan Assault is a Windows 8-exclusive top-down arcade shooter that's designed like one of those twin-stick shooting games. It's being designed Vanguard Games, the makers of Gatling Gears and Greed Corp, and Halo 4 creators 343 Industries. The game offers 25 missions and is set between the events of Halo 3 and Halo 4, in the early days of the Spartan Ops program later expanded in Halo 4.
The game is designed exclusively for Windows 8, and a version of the game is also being developed for the Windows Phone 8 with a modified control layout.

We've been wondering what Halo: Spartan Assault is all about, and today we may have finally gotten a clue about what the whole thing entails.
It's not a TV show, and it's certainly not an Xbox One title or a PC game. Instead, it appears to be designed for the Windows Phone 8.
Screenshots, or rather, still photographs of the game appear to have been leaked with what appears to be a real-time strategy or MOBA-like game played on the phone.
