Fans hoping to hear David Hayter's voice in the upcoming Metal Gear Solid 5 may have had their hopes dashed when Hayter revealed back in April that he wouldn't be reprising his role as the series' protagonist.
However, a new tweet by Hayter today casts doubt on his previous statement as it seems to imply that Hayter will, for a fact, be returning to the series—just as we noted in the past.
Given the odd PR campaign that saw the initial announcement of Metal Gear Solid 5, there's a good chance that Hayter's previous statement was complete bullshit and that he'll be returning to voice the character.
Here's what he wrote:
I'm so excited for E3!I just hope I don't lose my voice.;-)

Interestingly enough, Konami intends to showcase the game ahead of E3 at their Pre-E3 show on June 6, where they will reveal Snake's voice actor. Who else could it be?
The moment you've been waiting for! Who'll be the new voice of Snake? Find out during PRe-E3 Show, June 6 @ 10:00 PST youtu.be/JDkyyPex5fc
