Zombies, specifically people fascination and love for them, is a truly universally thing. As much as we love our undead here in America, with zombie video games, movies, comics books, even TV shows at virtually ever corner, they're just adored, perhaps more so in Japan. After all, it is the nation that gave the world Biohazard, aka Resident Evil, which many cite as being the catalyst that re-ignited the interest in walking dead that we are all enjoying today.
Evidence of this can be found at Universal Studios Japan. The above is Raccoon City Horror Nights, which is just one of several odes to Resident Evil over the years. This particual one was set up last fall to celebrate both Halloween and the release of Resident Evil 6. And a brand new attraction is being prepped later this summer, which should largely look the same, except for one key detail: visitors will be able to shoot the zombies!
Well, not really shoot them, but close to it. According to Destructoid, the "Resident Evil The Real" attraction will give visitors model guns that will shoot presumably air bullets. It's the same exact system that cops in Japan use during training exercises. And in keeping with the source material, visitors will only have so much ammo. Both regular zombies and lickers will be on-hand, ready to be shot at.
Oh, also at the snack bar, they will serve "brains" that is actually pasta. One has to wonder if the side salad will be dispersed all over the place, in form of potted plants.
