When the Ultimate version of Tecmo Koei's brawler, Dead or Alive 5, was formally announced not that long ago, it was made clear that some of the new content would be new faces.
Almost immediately afterward, it was rumored that additional guest stars from Sega's long running Virtua Fighter series would also be making an appearance also.
Well, it has been confirmed that Jacky Bryant will be showing up and joining his sister Sarah, which makes a lot of sense, given Dead or Alive's affinity for combination attacks.
Though, the tail end of the previous trailer also saw a longtime Dead or Alive staple who for whatever reason was left behind in the vanilla plain edition of DOA5. We speak of Leon, of course, and he'll be joined by another former outcast.
Actually, Ein is simply the alter ego of Hayate, but he's made appearances here and there, and it was only a matter of time that he showed up in DOA5 as well:
We also have a release date. Dead or Alive 5 Ultimate will arrive in North America on September 3rd for both the Xbox 360 and PS3. Unfortunately no price was mentioned; some were hoping that it might be discounted, since the regular edition isn't exactly old, and discounted asking price is often the protocol for such matters.
But if that was going to be the case, it probably would have been mentioned in the press release. Oh well. Hopefully additional characters will be added to the mix, to lessen the blow of double dipping when all is said and done.
