Microsoft on Xbox One: We Are Definitely Listening to Feedback

May 28, 2013 by Josiah Renaudin

Just like Sony, Microsoft is listening to the fans.

Sony isn’t the only company that’s making sure its fans have a say in the future of gaming hardware. While the general consensus on Microsoft isn’t exactly positive at this time, the Xbox-maker wants its loyal fans to know that the endless Tweets, emails, and comments surrounding the Xbox One reveal are not falling on deaf ears. The message may be a bit confused at this time, but the company that’s had your back through all these years of gaming hears your concerns.

That is, if you believe the words of Aaron Greenberg, chief of staff for interactive entertainment business at Microsoft. The cooperate figure has likely been swimming in negative Tweets relating to controversial issues like always-online infrastructure, a fee for the activation of pre-owned games, and just about anything else you can think of. Even among all the vitriol, Greenberg wants to thank all the Microsoft fans out there who have been vocal.

“Thanks to everyone for your comments and feedback,” Greenberg recently Tweeted. “We are definitely listening.”

That’s great to hear, but which part are they exactly listening to? There’s so much to discuss after a video game console is just announced, and this particular case has been a doozy. With Sony showing a great deal of support for the “PS4 No DRM” movement, though, it almost seemed like Microsoft had to respond in some fashion. Both companies want to show consumers that they care, and while this isn’t an official statement from a Microsoft website, seeing a message like this from someone like Greenberg is a good sign.
