Sonic Lost Worlds Debut Trailer Lets Sonic Run in a 3D Space

May 28, 2013 by Andrea Castellano

Sonic Lost Worlds will launch exclusively on Nintendo platforms.

During the most recent Nintendo Direct, Nintendo announced a partnership with Sega to bring exclusive Sonic games to Nintendo platforms.

This debut Sonic Lost Worlds trailer puts the fast running blue hedgehog, Sonic, to fend off each member of The Deadly Six. The trailer features of all the memorable jumping and ring collecting sounds of Sonic games while simultaneously adopting a hybrid of 2D side scrolling and 3D running.

While many  Sonic games, both new and in 3-dimensional spaces, failed to capture what made the older Sonic games so great, the guidance of Nintendo may hopefully help Sega find what makes the Sonic franchise so special.

In all fairness however, the last few Sonic titles of Sonic Generations and Sonic Colours, didn't fit the infamously terrible reputation Sonic games built. Using Nintendo's talent the increased attention exclusive games receive, Sonic Lost Worlds shows the most promise in ridding the unfair reputation that all Sonic games release as unplayable, soulless money grabs.

Releasing later this year, expect to see plenty of new Sonic Lost Worlds trailers, gameplay and information in the next few weeks and definitely during Nintendo's Nintendo Direct video broadcasts.
