FIFA is a franchise that has become synonymous with sports-based video games. Its presence within the games industry and community is always of note, and the series' growth seems to be continual. With Electronic Arts making such a huge push towards the Xbox One during its reveal earlier this month, it's only suitable that we begin to hear more about the game. When the realization hits that the game comes out later this year in September, this realization becomes all the more concrete.
Today, a number of pictures were dug up, courtesy of FIFA Game News. It was announced last month that Lionel Messi would be gracing the box art for FIFA 14, but nothing absolute was shown. The pictures that have come about today depict Messi, just like EA promised, but their authenticity has come into question.
Take a look at one of the examples we have provided for you below:
FIFA 13's official box art was revealed last year in mid-June, which leads us to believe this might be a bit pre-emptive. That said, leaks and other unplanned announcements are a constant in this industry, so maybe there is some validity to the claim that this will be the real cover for FIFA 14.
EA will more than likely ignore this, real or not, which means that an official box art announcement should be coming in the next few weeks. Though, considering the game's release isn't that far away, that is an easy assumption. Keep an eye on Gameranx for the latest on all things FIFA.
