Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain is due out later this year. A leak back in April suggests that the game will release on December 6, though no one can be absolutely sure. Until then, however, all we can expect are trailers and speculation. Yesterday it was revealed that Hideo Kojima is hard at work on a trailer that will reveal some measure of the game's plot. Furthermore, Kojima has said that, "Trailers these days has lots of explosion, crash, destruction, and fall. I intentionally avoid those elements in my next trailer."
Today, Kojima opted to release a small portion of his work in the form of a screenshot. Though we probably won't be able to view the completed trailer until E3 2013 in early June, it's no less a sign that things are rocking and rolling over at Kojima Productions. The picture, which we've provided below, was accompanied by this tweet: "Was at editing room between mtgs in the morning."
There isn't a lot be inferred from this piece of media, but there does appear to be a ribcage, a pistol silencer and a transparent wrist equipped with a watch. Though, these are just my mediocre findings. Kojima's games have always had a way of making the nonsensical sensical, always taking the more thoughtful approach in between the firefights and stealth missions. Perhaps this screenshot, dubbed "Not for the Future," will follow suit.
With E3 right around the corner, the gaming world won't have to wait very long for an answer to the questions raised by this reveal.
