Codemasters has released a new GRID 2 gameplay video that shows off the game’s Drift events, revealing key Asian locations, including the addition of Hong Kong, set to feature in the game.
Titled "World Series Racing 3: Asia, New Frontiers", the new video (seen below) focuses on the Asian cars, clubs and locations set to star in GRID 2.
Just like the movie that was inspired by drift races, Fast and Furious: Tokyo Drift, racers earn points for style and form in Drift events on steep and aggressive mountain roads filled with hairpins in Japan. Likewise, Open Road racing is represented with Touge events in Hong Kong, where players must close the gap and take their chance to pass in one-on-one, contactless sprints. In other words, they have to get through the races without a scratch.
Players can also take to the streets in the Street Racing category, which takes place in Dubai. Cars power down highways and blaze past skyscrapers in the city. Those keen on more vanilla races can partake in Track Racing in the Yas MArina in Abu Dhabi, one of the most advanced racing circuits in the world.
GRID 2 will ship to retail on May 28 for the Xbox 360 video game and entertainment system from Microsoft, PlayStation 3 computer entertainment system and Windows PC and is available for pre-order now.
