Dead or Alive 5 Ultimate Trailer Highlights New Characters, Costumes

May 9, 2013 by Josiah Renaudin

Want more Dead or Alive 5? Ultimate has got you covered.

Apparently, it takes at least two iterations of a particular fighting game to get it all right. First there was Dead or Alive 5, which released on PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 last year. Following the console release, the PlayStation Vita received the high-quality port Dead or Alive 5 Plus, which featured some never-before-seen content. Now, the team over at Tecmo Koei is adding a new bit of life to the game with Dead or Alive 5 Ultimate, with the title’s first trailer now available for your viewing pleasure.

What’s new this time around? Along with all the content from the original game and Plus, this video shows newly added character Momiji, who displays a beautiful stream of combos, grapples, and counters in the first trailer. All this action is taking place in a stage from the Ninja Gaiden franchise, which is where Momiji originated.

Along with this new face comes a quick sighting of a fresh costume for Lei Fang, which leads us to believe that there will be additional costumes in this updated release. The ending of the trailer also shows the back of fan-favorite character Leon, who never made an appearance in the the original release. However, it’s likely that he’ll make his Dead or Alive 5 debut in Ultimate.

The other new features that will be coming to the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 release of Dead or Alive 5 Ultimate are still unknown. Look to hear more about this new entry in the popular fighting game series in the coming weeks.
