More often than not, leaks with some sort of video evidence turn out to be real. Although it took the team over at NetherRealm a few days to respond, the rumors of Batgirl being adding as DLC to the recently released Injustice: Gods Among Us are true.
NetherRealm Studios has confirmed Batgirl as the second of four planned downloadable combatants for the game via the game's official Twitter account. This additional content was first teased last week through a video showcasing a player downloading the fighter, and while it wasn’t from the developer’s official YouTube account, what was being shown in the clip was a little difficult to dispute. The first sign of gameplay will be arriving sometime next week.
"Looks like the bat's out of the bag," NetherRealm posted earlier today. "Batgirl is a playable DLC character in Injustice. Catch her gameplay next week!"
No exact day has been claimed as “Batgirl release day” and no price has been discussed. The first DLC character that will be making its way to Injustice: Gods Among Us will be Lobo, who’s due to arrive on the battlefield May 7. That means that we only know two of the four planned characters included in the $15 Season Pass.
According to sales figures in the U.K., there are plenty of active players who should be ready and willing to add new characters to their personal rosters. The game’s legendary heroes like Superman and Batman ended the three-week run of Irrational Games’ BioShock Infinite in its first week on the charts.
