The CEO of Quantic Dream, Guillaume de Fondaumiere, says that the PlayStation 4 is like a PC "of next year or two years." He made his statements praising Sony's next-gen consoles in an interview with GameSpot, where he talked about what the studio's plans are after Beyond: Two Souls.
"We are already seeing in the first (PS4 tests) that we’re doing a big difference," said Fondaumiere of the differences between the PS3 and the PS4.
Quantic is best known for their attempts to tell 'emotional' stories through video games, but like Cage, Fondaumiere believes that the potential for those stories is often limited by the technology of the time.
"There are limitations on the PlayStation 3 and there will be limitations on PlayStation 4," he said. "With the PlayStation 4, it’s something that really is more like the PC of next year or two years."
In addition to Beyond: Two Souls for the PS3, Quantic is currently developing a new game for the PlayStation 4, the details of which have yet to be divulged. According to its lead developer David Cage, the game is "incredibly exciting; it's one of the strongest concepts we've had at Quantic Dream and we're really excited about it."
