Warner Brothers has released a new trailer for LEGO Legends of Chima: Laval's Journey, one of the three games set in the new Legends of Chima world that were announced back in January. One thing we learn from the thirty-second video is that Chima is pronounced chee-muh and not kai-muh, but we also get a glimpse of some of what the player will be doing in the sandbox-style action-adventure game.
Protagonist Laval's mission seems to revolve around defeating a guy/creature called Cragger, who – according to the video description – wants to manipulate the “awesome power” of the legendary triple-Chi armor “to threaten the balance of Chima itself”. To stop him, Laval will have to learn the secret of the armour before Cragger can.
As the player explores various locations – including “Lion Temple, Eagle Spire, Gorilla Forrest, Rhino Quary, Croc Swamp and more” – they will unlock other characters, allies of Laval with their own unique abilities. Laval and his allies will have to use “the power of Chi” (pronounced “chee”, which explains the pronunciation of “Chima”) to battle enemies and whatever else they need to do to succeed on their quest.
LEGO Legends of Chima: Laval's Journey is due to launch for the 3DS and PlayStation Vita within the next few months, and for DS before the end of the year. One of the other Legends of Chima games, a racing mini-game called LEGO Legends of Chima: Speedorz, is already available on LEGO.com and for iOS. Does this one take your fancy?
