With the release date of the open-world co-op adventure State of Decay 2 right around the corner, Undead labs have just detailed what owners of the beefed-up Xbox One can expect.
Speaking to IGN, Undead Labs studio head and State of Decay 2 executive producer Jeff Strain stated that players can expect “significant visual enhancements…thanks to the Xbox One X”
Strain stated that amongst the additions, players can expect a far more stable framerate, higher resolution textures, 4K and HDR.
“Extra memory and greater processing power gives us a more stable frame rate and lets us do more with higher resolution textures. When you’re in the game, you’ll immediately see the difference – denser foliage, detailed shadows, depth of light from farther distances, and more detailed character models. It makes the world feel more crisp, vibrant, and like real life. And of course, it lets us run the game in 4k and HDR, which a lot of fans are excited about.”
State of Decay 2 is the follow up to 2013’s State of Decay. This year’s iteration includes 4-player co-op, beefed up graphics and a completely new world to explore. State of Decay 2 will be available exclusively on Xbox One and Windows 10 PCs (presumably only via the Windows Store) on May 22nd.
