The PlayStation 3 exclusive "InFamous 2" has been dated for June 7, 2011 and retailers like Amazon and GameStop have begun to take pre-orders. In addition to the announcement of the release date, Sony has also announced that the game will be seeing a collector's edition release in the form of a "Hero Edition" that retails for $99.99.
The Hero Edition contains a statue of "InFamous 2" protagonist Cole, a mini-comic from DC Comics, a sling pack and a soundtrack.
Players who preorder the game from Amazon will receive an in-game item–the 24K Gold Amp. It's basically a gold skin for the amplifier weapon Cole uses.
Best Buy purchasers will be able to experience the game as Cole's nemesis from the first game, Kessler.
The Walmart version of the game will provide players with a powerful grenade that explodes into arcs of lightning.
Arguably the best unlock of the bunch, GameStop reorders will have access to a special ability called the Lightning Hook that allows Cole to ensnare enemies and objects and pull them towards him, kind of like the leash in Bulletstorm.
If you've ever felt peeved by pre-order DLCs, there's a good chance that the ones for "inFamous 2" will raise your eyebrows, and then some.
