When WayForward's remake of the NES classic DuckTales arrives later this summer, some glaring plot-holes that you had no idea existed will finally be addressed.
What glaring plot-holes you might be asking? How come you never noticed? Well, among other things, when you last played the original game, you were probably 7 years old at the time. That and most Nintendo Entertainment System games hardly had robust stories to begin with.
According to Siliconera, there will be added cut scenes that explains why Uncle Scrooge has to rescue his nephews, Huey, Dewey, and Louie in the first place. Again, in the original, it was never actually explained; you just simply rescued them.
The reason? WayForward wanted players to feel as if they were actually playing an episode of the show. Another example is the moon level, According to Capcom's Rey Jimenez:
"In the original NES version, you go in the UFO to find the remote control to open the area to get to the boss. You don’t really know why. The game doesn’t explain it well."
But in the remake:
"In our version, before you even get to the UFO you see Fenton who is Gizmoduck and he gets kidnapped by the UFO. You’re going into the UFO to save him and find all of the parts in Gizmoduck’s suit. Once you get that all together and Fenton turns into Gizmoduck he’s going to escort you back to the area where the door was and he will blast everything out of your way and then blast the door out."
WayForward even goes far enough to explain why the end level boss is a giant rat. Apparently, the moon being made out of cheese is not good enough in the year 2013.
