Though Sony recently boasted about the large number of games headed to its platforms – PS4, PS3, Vita, and PlayStation Mobile – it seems not all upcoming titles were included on the list. Today, 505 Games has announced that Terraria will also come to the Vita soon.
Much like Guacamelee!, which is also coming to the PlayStation Vita soon, this is a Metroidvania-style game. You get to explore, craft, and engage in combat. It's a sandbox game set in procedurally-generated worlds with “exotic biomes and deep underworlds”, so much of the focus is on exploration of each new environment. Like Minecraft? In Terraria, you also mine, collecting ores that you can use to craft weapons and armour, and finding treasures. Here are some examples of some of the things that you might end up with in the game: “Laser rifles, wands, potions, flamethrowers, shark launchers”.
It'll be interesting to see if the multiplayer gets much action on the Vita. After all, how many people do you know who have one? If you do happen to know people with both the console and a willingness to buy this game, however, you can play with up to seven of them online.
Are you looking forward to the arrival of Terraria on PS Vita? Or do you think Sony should be trying to get new games onto the console rather than porting over loads of these indie titles?
