From April 1st Team Ninja, the developer most known for the Ninja Gaiden and Dead or Alive series, will be devided into two seperate teams and the Team Ninja moniker may be no more Kotaku reports.
The new developer outfits are named Ichigaya Development Group 1 and Ichigaya Development Group 2, Ichigaya is the name of Team Ninja's nearest Tokyo metro station. There is no mention of Team Ninja for either developer though it seems unlikely Tecmo Koei will kill off the brand.
Team Ninja's boss, Yosuke Hayashi will lead Development Group 1 while Team Ninja's former senior manager, Keisuke Kikuchi is now 'Head of Ichigaya Development Group 2'.
Techo Koei have not officially declared that this is the end of the Team Ninja name and it's unclear at this time whether one team will focus on Ninja Gaidan while the other works of Dead or Alive or whether they will collaborate on future titles.
No reason has yet been given to explain the re-organisation.
Team Ninja are currently developing next-gen shooter title Yaiba and it's uncertain if this realignment will have any bearing on the game's production.
