2001 was a good year for the nerd. The first Lord of the Rings movie was released, Shenmue 2 graced the world of gaming and the Harry Potter movies began their journey to box office victory.
For many, 2001 was great for a different reason – Jak and Daxter: The Precursor Legacy came out. An imagining of the great minds over at Naughty Dog, the game let players take control of Jak, the game’s protagonist. The sprawling, vibrant world was a true stroke of innovation in game design, and the title quickly saw a fanbase grow under it. Nobody thought the game would grow into one of the most successful franchises that Sony had ever published, but it did, alongside names such as Ratchet and Clank and Sly Cooper.
It appears that the ESRB is under the impression that the Jak and Daxter trilogy will be making its way to Playstation VITA. A post on the NeoGAF forums highlights the material in question. While the post itself doesn’t reveal much in terms of miscellaneous information, it does give hope to many Jak and Daxter fans that they will soon be able to play the game on Sony’s Playstation VITA.
It’d be easy to assume that this collection would be officially announced at E3 2013 in June, but seeing as the collection has already seen release on the Playstation 3, it’s possible that Sony could talk about it beforehand. While this is all rumor, an ESRB slip-up is pretty uncommon.
