EA has officially confirmed the existence of Dead Space 2, the sequel to it’s highly acclaimed survival horror third-person shooter, Dead Space. According to the Press Release, Isaac Clarke returns to the franchise with his iconic Plasma Cutter and other new tools, fighting his way through another endless onslaught of Necromorphs in epic Zero-G environments. According to EA and Visceral Games, survival isn’t the only thing on Isaac’s mind- this time, he calls the shots(whatever that means).
Steve Papoutsis, Executive Producer of Dead Space 2 said in a statement,
We’re thrilled to jump back into the series, making the next chapter in Isaac’s journey. The infection continues to spread throughout space and our hero Isaac Clarke is the only person able to contain it. There are still loads of necromorphs that need killing!
In Dead Space 2, not everything is exactly as it seems. Expect plot twists that will surprise you and a huge cast of twisted, disgusting monsters that are sure to scare the daylights out of you.
Dead Space 2 is being developed for the PS3, Xbox 360 and the PC, more details will be released inside this month’s edition of gameinformer magazine.
