Ubisoft has announced the third and latest installment of the "Call of Juarez" series. Titled "Call of Juarez: The Cartel", the game transports the franchise from its Old West setting to the modern day hell of Northern Mexico.
"The Cartel" is going to be a controversial title especially in light of recent violence in Northern Mexico and the ongoing drug war that afflicts the region.
Although the series is regarded for being a vehicle for mature narratives, it remains to be seen whether the latest addition will walk in the footsteps of its predecessors and deliver a narrative that doesn't make light of the on-going tragedy in Mexico.
"Call of Juarez: The Cartel" is currently in development by Polish-based studio Techland for the PC and both Xbox 360 and PS3 consoles.
