In the third of Nintendo's series of character-focused webisodes promoting its upcoming Wii U game LEGO City: Undercover, we're introduced to Officer Frank Honey. Honey seems to be a co-worker of protagonist Chase McCain, though in this video he acts more like a particularly useless sidekick. This clueless character is clearly supposed to provide comic relief.
Honey's naivety is especially obvious when contrasted with the grouchy Chief Dunby. The video begins with Dunby shouting at McCain to, “Get down to the basement and get a uniform on!” at which point Honey pops up and innocently asks, “Are you two old friends?” It does seem like McCain and Dunby have some history, and presumably we'll learn more when the game comes out.
We then see McCain – having apparently ignored his boss' request that he put on a uniform – standing beside a police truck, asking quietly, “Are you in there, Frank?” At which point, of course, Honey fails to take the social cue from McCain's hushed tones and shouts, “Yes! I think the robbers are still around so be quiet!”
After a demonstration of McCain's hand-to-hand combat skills, the pair then set off in the police truck. A cut scene shows Honey asking if he can drive (in an earlier video this is because he wants to impress a lady). And, naturally, he crashes the truck into the police station.
Finally, as if we needed any further proof that Honey is somewhat lacking in the brains department, we get to see him stare at a female cop with dark hair and a beauty spot, to McCain's disdain.
LEGO City: Undercover is due to launch for the Wii U on March 18.
