Square Enix is wasting no time as, in a blog post published a day after the game launched, it has revealed the first piece of downloadable content for the new Tomb Raider. On the Tomb Raider Tumblr, Square Enix has announced that the “Caves and Cliffs Multiplayer Map Pack” will be available to purchase soon.
“Don't want your time on Yamatai to end?” the blog post asks, presumably addressing me the player rather than me as Lara Croft (since it's a pretty horrible place filled with horrible people, and it's not like Lara would jump at the chance to spend more time there). Then again, this is not an extension of the trials that Lara has to face but a map pack for the multiplayer mode, in which you fight either with or against members of the Endurance crew.
The three maps included in the pack, each of which is playable in all four of the multiplayer modes – Rescue, Cry for Help, Team Deathmatch, and Free for All – are:
Scavenger Caverns
An extensive subterranean network of caves used by the island’s scavengers as an underground prisonCliff Shantytown
This scavenger settlement was built high up on the island cliffs. Its many layers hide some of the deadliest traps on the islandThe Burning Village
A raging fire has embraced an abandoned Japanese village, the burning buildings offer multiple ways to escape or engage your enemies
The map pack is a timed exclusive, so it'll launch on Xbox 360 first. You'll be able to pick it up on March 19 for 400 Microsoft Points.
