The second in Nintendo's series of character-focused webisodes promoting the upcoming LEGO City: Undercover is all about Chief Dunby. Since protagonist Chase McCain is a cop, he has to have a boss, and in this case that boss is a man who really, really likes donuts.
After somebody wakes the guy up from his nap face-down in one of these donuts, to which he quips, “I was just resting my eyes. And my arms, and my legs,” we see Dunby telling his staff the mayor wants them to look for Rex Fury, the game's quiffed antagonist. Unfortunately for him, he's cut off by the sound of somebody vacuuming, which I guess is a metaphor for the fact that he blows a lot of hot air.
The briefing is brought to a complete halt when the cops tune into a security camera in a bank to find a group of criminals robbing the place. Dunby orders them to get over to the bank, and when they get there and the robbers make for a quick getaway, he gives the command to give chase from atop what looks very much like a Segway.
It looks like Dunby will be the primary source of missions for the player, checking in via the Wii U GamePad. And from the sounds of McCain's response to one such video call, it doesn't sound like he's particularly keen on following orders.
LEGO City: Undercover will launch on the Wii U on March 18, to the relief of those who've bought the console and had nothing to play on it yet.
