Crysis 3 has retained its position at the top of the UK charts for the second week since its launch, according to UKIE, despite a 43% drop in sales compared to last week. This is an especially good week for EA, which publishes Crysis 3, as FIFA 13 has made it back up to second position in the charts. FIFA 13 also had a drop in sales, of 35%, but Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance (which debuted in second position last week) had a much larger drop of 60% and so has slipped down to third position.
As for Aliens: Colonial Marines, which launched at the top of the UK charts a fortnight ago, a big drop in sales last week and this week has pushed it down to seventh position, below the long-standing Call of Duty: Black Ops II (fourth), Far Cry 3 (fifth), and Need for Speed Most Wanted (sixth). Rounding out the top ten are Dead Space 3 (eighth), Assassin's Creed III (ninth), and Hitman Absolution (tenth).
UKIE points out that this week has been a quiet one, with no new releases making it into the top ten and four of those titles that are in the top ten remaining in the same positions they were in last week. We should see a very different story next week, with the launch of Tomb Raider and SimCity. What will the charts look like this time next week? Expect Tomb Raider to debut at the top, since it's available on multiple platforms, but SimCity should be up there too, especially given the relative lack of other new titles.
