Søren "Bjergsen" Bjerg of the Copenhagen Wolves recently took some time to answer questions posed by in2lol.com. While the Denmark based team is currently competing in the League Championship Series, they are unfortunately doing so without their youthful team member. Bjerg, born February 21st of 1996, fell just short of the LCS's age requirement – a fact made more upsetting, I imagine, by the fact that he now meets the 17+ requirement just weeks after the tournament's beginning. When asked what sitting on the sidelines has been like for him, he responds:
“BWAH. Watching my team playing without me has been nerve wrecking… I was sitting at the edge of my chair every game, hoping for a win. It's easier to see bad calls and such when spectating rather than being in the game, so in that way I have been able to see some of our mistakes.”
He also discusses, among other things, his predictions for his Bjergsen-deprived comrades, the other teams competing, and his dealings with leaving home. The young man will soon be moving into a gaming house, and offers his thoughts on being separated from friends and family:
“I will be moving away from my friends and family but hopefully I will find new friends through League of Legends, so I'm not too worried about that. I will miss my dog a lot though! Almost all of my friends think it's awesome that I pursue pro gaming and my family thinks the same. Pretty much everyone in my life thinks that it's a once in a life time opportunity and I shouldn't miss it! So I'm happy to have their support. I dropped out of school but I will have no problem picking up where I left off in the future.”
Here's hoping the burgeoning professional luck with his transitions. If you'd like to read the rest of the interview head on over to http://www.in2lol.com/en/interviews/7043-i-hate-playing-against-kayle-bjergsen-interview.
