Riot Games, best known for their work on League of Legends, has opened a new studio down under in sunny Sydney, Australia. The new studio opening marks the company's first and only presence in the Southern Hemisphere and is expected to house the studio's marketing, eSports and community, and web-experience teams.
According to the studio's announcement, Riot Games Syndey will be involved in the creation of "unique experiences on the web and on the ground to support the growing League of Legends community in the Oceania region." In other words, they'll be involved in community management and get down and dirty with local organizers in South East Asia and Australia, where the game maintains a strong presence.
To that end, Riot Games Sydney has opened a few positions to staff the new office, including a community manager and an eSports coordinator. If you've got the mind to become a part of Riot Games, head on over to their hiring page and apply for a position.
It goes without saying that League of Legends is one of the most prominent games in eSports today, if not the world of gaming—period. With this development, the game can only get even bigger.
