The second out of four updates for Guild Wars 2: Flame and Frost has been announced, according to the game's website. New details are available, and patch notes have also been released.
The update, titled "The Gathering Storm," will feature a new PvP map called "Spirit Watch" which will allow players to score extra points by participating in a capture the flag-style game where they can run the Orb of Ascension to any three points on the map.
There are also new guild missions which are designed for team play. Players must work together to complete them and earn Guild Merits which can unlock new upgrades, and earn new rewards which have been added for this update.
New achievements will also be available to accompany the update, along with a new achievement selection system so players can set daily achievements.
A synopsis is also available on the website:
The situation worsens for the citizens of Wayfarer Foothills and Diessa Plateau. Volunteers have eased the burden, but more refugees hobble down from the Shiverpeaks. The storm there gains momentum, but the forces of good are beginning to rally. They’re sending their heroes to defend the land and its peoples. Someone must hold back the gathering storm.
This is all reminiscent of the first Flame and Frost update,
