It seems like only yesterday we got a new Assassin's Creed game, but there seems to be no rest for weary video game developers.
Marketing materials allegedly leaked to Kotaku reveal a potentially new Assassin's Creed game, which seems to feature pirates.
The game, apparently called Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag, will have a new character, new history period, and a new setting, according to Ubisoft's announcement earlier this month on a new addition of the franchise. The sequel will be released in 2014, although no other details have been released.
"we expect it to be another major leap forward for the franchise," said Ubisoft CEO Yves Guillemot.
According to the anonymous source, this is part of a marketing poster that is set to be put up in Gamestop stores on March 4.
If all of this turns out to be true, the game will be an interesting take on the series. Not necessarily unique considering the inclusion of boats has been done before (Grand Theft Boats, anybody?), but will allow Ubisoft to explore an entirely new culture. Let's just hope that they don't go all Pirates of the Caribbean on us and release too many sequels.
Oh… too late.
