Sony has just revealed its March update for PlayStation Plus in the UK, and it's a doozy. Five new titles will be added to the Instant Games Collection for PlayStation Plus members to download for free: Mass Effect 3 (6th March), Dead or Alive 5 (6th March), Joe Danger 2 (6th March), Metal Gear Solid HD Collection (13th March), and Puddle (20th March). The first three are for PS3, and the last two are for Vita.
I'm quite shocked that Sony is able to offer Mass Effect 3 for free (well, free if you pay for a PlayStation Plus subscription), given its continued high cost elsewhere. Apparently, Sony has also teamed up with EA to offer discounts on Mass Effect 2 and Mass Effect 3, too. No word on Mass Effect, unfortunately.
As for the rest, Metal Gear Solid HD Collection is a good game to play on the Vita, because the graphics are improved just enough that it looks unplayable but not quite enough to look right on your huge HD television. Besides, who doesn't want to play these classics on the go?
Unfortunately, as five games join the collection another five games leave, and as they are replaced PlayStation Plus members will lose the ability to download the following for free: Sleeping Dogs (6th March), Vanquish (6th March), LIMBO (6th March), Wipeout 2048 (13th March), and Lumines Electronic Symphony (20th March). That said, if you intend to continue paying for a PlayStation Plus subscription I'm pretty sure you can just download these games now before they leave the collection and keep them in your account as long as you are still a member. Go!
