The process with every Metal Gear game used to be that Kojima will finish one and immediately swear off ever doing any ever again, only to put another one out and continue the cycle anew. That’s how we liked it. That was settling for us. We didn’t get our hopes up, but then something great always came totally out of nowhere.
He’s flipping the script on us here. That’s unacceptable, Hideo. What are you doing, messing with the order of things? Who do you think you are? The foremost auteur game developer? A creator of massive critical and commercial successes?
Oh. Right.
So in a chat with VG247 he mentioned that he’d like to follow up Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance with other titles that spin-off from the “Solid” base of games. He specifically mentioned that he’d like to make something that featured MGS3’s primary friendtagonist The Boss, though he mentions that’s not something he’d like to make a habit of.
The Boss is one of the series’ most interesting characters. In her original appearance she’s the catalyst for much of the game’s important emotional conflicts. It would be interesting to get a greater understanding of her character, as her motives in the game are outlined and understood through Naked Snake’s story, but they can’t be empathised with quite as much without having seen her experience first-hand.
If that’s not making any sense it’s because you should really have played MGS3 and I’m not going to be the one to spoil it for you. A Boss game would be cool. Do that, Kojima. Or dont. Do whatever. You kinda get to, at this point.
