Microsoft Recommends No Surge Protectors For The Xbox One X

November 20, 2017 by Jordan Coetsee

Issues with turning on your console? Remove your surge protector.

Having issues with turning on your Xbox One X? It may be because you are using a surge protector.

On the support page, Microsoft recommends that players do not use surge protectors as the Xbox One X and The Xbox One S have surge protector functionality built in.

‘Note Because the console has a built-in surge protector, you should not connect it to an external surge protector. If you connect the console to another surge protector, the console cannot reach the full power that is needed for optimal performance.’

So if you’ve been experiencing issues with your console, it probably because you are being over-cautious!

In other Microsoft news, the tech company has only sold 1,344 Xbox One X units in Japan.

‘Microsoft hasn’t ever really had a good track record of console sales in the country, mainly because Sony is where Japan originated from – so when word got out that the Xbox One X was sold out even before launch day – we weren’t really certain if this was a good or bad thing. Unfortunately, it turned out to be the latter.’

How have you found your Xbox One X console so far? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below.
