On Febuary 17th the ex-Halo developer is intending to properly show off their eagerly awaited next project. Their blog revealed earlier that the Activision published game, which until now had the tiniest possible trickle of information drip out, is now officially ready to discuss properly this Sunday.
If you want to stay up to date easier they've set up a Twitter, YouTube page and a Google+… thing for you to check obsessively.
Right now our understanding of what they game entails is limited, save for a brief synopsis discovered by IGN, a few pictures that infer a sort of anachronistic cyber-past and a currently meaningless ARG.
The game, allegedly, takes place in the last city on Earth, above it floating an unknown alien orb that the locals understand to be their protector. Alien monsters threaten the planet and a portion of the inhabitants are the line of defense against them. Bungie have joked that the game is an MMO, but we aren't sure what kind of genre it fits into at all.
Bungie's Jason Jones has suggested that the game skews more toward a sensation felt within our youth he says:
"Destiny is designed for your inner seven year old. We want to make it feel like a mythic adventure."
CVG suggests that along with this announcement the game will be shown again at GDC next month, so hopefully we'll hear even more.
It was confirmed earlier in the week during an Activision quarterly earnings call that we definitely won't see the game released this year.
