If you were wonder just why you were leveling up so fast in Call of Duty WWII’s multiplayer component, it isn’t because you are ‘that good’ or the game is ‘too easy’ it’s because the guys over at Sledgehammer Games unintentionally launched the title with double XP active.
Taking to Reddit to answer questions regarding Call of Duty’s first ever triple XP weekend, Michael Condrey, Sledgehammer Games boss, told fans that first-person shooter launched with double XP active.
‘No sarcasm in my response. We launched with 2XP active, unintentionally. Everyone was getting 2XP since 11/3 and up until we made the playlist change late Thursday night, which effectively launched 3XP.
Come Monday, when we turn off the XP bonus, it will effectively revert to what we should have had at launch (aka 1XP).
So early players, you got a huge head start.
PS. Positive intent is the spirit of life. Keep it classy, Reddit.’
He didn’t give a reason as what to the caused the game to launch with double XP, so we can only speculate. My thoughts? Probably some Sledgehammer employee that forgot to return server setting back to normal.
