Wreck-It Ralph is enjoying a successful time in theaters, and the movie's director Rich Moore wants to make a sequel. Assuming the movie is greenlit, Moore says he intends to write Nintendo's most popular character Mario into the film.
Though there's not been any announcement of a sequel, Moore intends to write find room for the red-shirted plumber, who was absent from the first movie.
"If we're lucky enough to have a sequel then we'll create that moment that's perfect for [Mario]," he revealed in an interview with Digital Spy (via NME).
"Over the course of developing the story I was always looking for the perfect moment or scene to include Mario," said Moore. : "But it had to be organic, it had to feel like [the scene] was made for him and unfortunately as we were developing the story that moment never made itself clear."
Given Bowser's presence in Wreck-It Ralph, Moore didn't think he would have any difficulty including Mario in the film.
The movie is currently out in theaters and stars the voice of John C. Reilly as Wreck-It Ralph, who's supported by the talents of Sarah Silverman, Jane Lynch, and Jack McBrayer. It's about a fictional video game villain who sets out to be a hero.
