Destiny 2 Will Get 4K and HDR Support Early December

November 10, 2017 by Jordan Coetsee

Xbox and PS4 consoles will get HDR support and 4K for the PS4 Pro and Xbox One X.

Still playing Destiny 2? If not, here’s a pretty good reason to hope back into the PvP/ PvE title. Destiny 2 will be receiving 4K and HDR support for select consoles, alongside the Curse of Osiris on December 5.

Bungie specifically mentions that both PS4 consoles, the Xbox One S and Xbox One X are all getting high dynamic range support. PlayStation 4 Pro owners will also get to enjoy the game in “adaptive 4K”, while Xbox One X owners are getting “4K”, which hopefully means native 4K.

‘On December 5, along with the launch of Curse of Osiris and Season Two, we’ll be deploying an update to Destiny 2 that will deliver stunning gameplay with high dynamic range (HDR) lighting to these new consoles. You’ll also see adaptive 4K resolution on the PlayStation 4 Pro and 4K on the Xbox One X.’

Good enough reason to pick up the title now? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below.

Destiny 2 had an incredible launch last month, however, the game’s number of players have been steadily declining, this has mainly been attributed to lack of end-game content bringing players back for more.

Destiny 2 launched to critical acclaim a couple weeks back, promising fans everything they wanted from Destiny 1 and all its expansion back from the get-go. While during the first weeks the title had seemingly nothing slowing down the hype train, peaking at a total of 3.5 million concurrent players on September 17. Since then in just the last 30 days Destiny 2’s player base has plummeted by over 2 million users, with over 400,000 lost in the last two days.

How have you been finding Destiny 2 so far? Enjoying it? Let us know your thoughts in the comments section below.

Destiny 2 is out now on PC, PS4 and Xbox One.
