Bethesda has released the 1.8 title update for Skyrim on the PlayStation 3 via the PSN in preparation for tomorrow's release of the Dragonborn DLC over the service.
The English title update, listed as 1.08 in the US and 2.08 in Europe, has been deployed, and should be automatically downloaded as soon as you launch Skyrim on the PS3.
The patch addresses a large number of issues, with improvements to general memory and stability. Here's what else it does:
General memory and stability improvements
Fixed rare crash when using vampiric grip
Fixed issue where Arnleif and Sons Trading Company could become permanently locked
Fixed issue related to duplicate NPCs
Fixed rare issue where exterior door would not open properly
Bethesda is making good on their word to release the DLC for Skyrim on the PlayStation 3 almost a half-a-year after every other platform received Hearthfire and Dawnguard, both of which are set for release later this month. The newly available Dragonborn will be the first DLC for the PlayStation 3, and will be on sale at a 50% discount when it goes live on the PlayStation Network tomorrow—so be sure to pick it up then.
Given the studio's newfound support for the PS3, we won't be too surprised if the next DLC comes out around the same time as it will on the PC and Xbox 360.
