If you were thinking of finally getting Nintendo's brand new console and are considering the Deluxe Model, since it has the bigger hard drive plus other bonuses, but are not the least bit interested in the pack-in game… and instead are mostly interested in the best third party offering going at the moment… then mark February 17 on your calendar.
That's the day Nintendo releases in North America the ZombiU Deluxe Set. It's pretty much everything one would get with the regular Deluxe Set. Again, the extras that differentiates itself from a Basic Set is a 32GB hard drive, a console stand, a GamePad stand, a GamePad cradle, plus both the console and the GamePad in black.
But instead of Nintendoland being the enclosed game on a disc, you’ll find the critically acclaimed ZombiU. But does that mean the Wii U equivalent to Wii Sports is nowhere to be found? Nope; it’s actually still part of the package, but instead comes installed on the hard drive.
The normal Deluxe Set costs $350, and the brand new ZombiU Deluxe Set will be $390. Given that the price of a stand-alone copy is retails for $59.99, it’s actually quite the deal worth considering.
As Nintendo notes in their press release, it's "a savings of $70 if all items were purchased separately."
The package is slated for North America only, though it’s not foolish to ponder the possibility of it arriving elsewhere in the world, like Europe perhaps (the game has been hit across the board, which Nintendo is capitalizing, at least around here).
