Nintendo’s remake of the OG SNES classic is proving to be super popular with the community across the globe. Nintendo announced today that it sold 2 million units worldwide, which is absolutely insane given that the $80 system only launched at the end of September. The statistics are pretty indicative of last year’s NES Classic which faced huge demand – actually forcing the company to stop production and restart it again (the relaunch is scheduled for next year.)
SNES Classic comes bundled with over 20 titles including Super Mario World, The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past, and Super Metroid. There’s also a special way to unlock Star Fox 2, which won’t appear on the games list when you initially boot up the system.
In other Nintendo news, there may be a slight chance that we see LawBreakers on the Switch.
‘In an Interview with Gamespot, Bleszinski praised Nintendo’s console and said if Boss Key were to make a Switch edition, the studio make the best use of the system’s unique qualities. That being said, it may never happen.’
