Our thoughts are with the friends and family of Robin Sachs, who passed away recently. The British actor is well-known for his role as Ethan in Buffy the Vampire Slayer, but gamers will know him from his voice acting as Zaeed Massani in Mass Effect 2 and Mass Effect 3.
The news has been discussed on the Mass Effect 3 forums, with forum user “Semtex Jack” reporting:
Robin Sachs was found dead this morning on his birthday, after dying four days ago.
I'm sure we can all agree he played one of the best loved characters in the Mass Effect series, a real fan favourite. It's honestly gutting that he's gone.
I had the honor of meeting him two years ago and he's just as badass, but at the same time an amazingly lovely guy in real life. He was a martial artist, a horse rider, and probably one of the most charismatic and funny people I've ever met.
He will be sorely missed.

While the user cites sources from the actor's Facebook page among others, there doesn't seem to be any official confirmation that Sachs was discovered on his birthday after having been dead for four days. An update entitled “Tragic News” on his website simply reads:
