Ariel Magnes, technical artist for incredibly successful puzzle game Two Dots, will be inducted into Melbourne indie team Mighty Games.
Ariel left her native New York to pursue a Masters in Animation and Interactive Media from RMIT University, and during her stay in Melbourne played a significant role in the formation of the Freeplay Independent Games Festival. She also worked in a professional capacity with a number of Melbourne game studios, including Tin Man Games.
Mighty Games co-founder Ben Britten praised Ariel’s know-how surrounding the free-to-play model, an indispensable skill in moving forward with the team:
“I met Ariel when she was studying in Melbourne, and even then I was blown away by her combo of artistic talent and technical know-how. When we got an opportunity to bring her back to Melbourne we jumped at the chance.”
Ariel, who will be lending her game design expertise to upcoming mobile title Charming Runes, shares Britten’s enthusiasm:
“I’m looking forward to making games with Mighty. It’s an exciting time to be developing new projects in Australia”
Two Dots is available for free through the App Store and Google Play Store.
