PAX East is less than two months away, so we're finally getting the kind of information that finally shows up in the home stretch. Including the games that will comprise the east coast addition of the Indie Showcase.
For many, it's the indie games that are the real highlights of the show. Because waiting in line for literally four hours to watch someone else play some big AAA release in an extremely choreographed manner, and which will all end up on YouTube, beat for beat, is not everyone's idea of a great time.
Seven titles in total are included. They are Little Chomp, Major Magnet, Orion's Forge, Saturday Morning RPG, Spaceteam, Third Eye Crime, and Time Surfer. The interesting thing about this year's batch is how they're all mobile titles. Each one is coming out for iOS, with a few also getting Android ports.
Given how the show mostly caters towards hardcore gamers, it'll be interesting to see how attendees react. Which is not to say that these seven titles are casual offerings; far from it. But that’s just how smartphone games are often perceived by such an audience. Again, it should be an interesting time.
